I have been reading the responses of many of you to the Erev Pessah
firebombing of the VSL United Talmud Torahs school library. As
co-President of the local chapter of the AJL, I have been trying to
coordinate efforts to help the librarian, Dan Holobow begin to rebuild.

Yeshiva University Celebrates 350 years of American Jewish History
On Tuesday evening, April 20th, Yeshiva University celebrates the 350th
anniversary of Jewish immigration to the United States. Students, faculty
and alumni will appear together on stage for the first time, in a program

Shalom safranim.
I hope everyone had a good Pesach.
Someone has asked me about this question. Apparently there is a group in
Israel concerned about animal overpopulation and some orthodox rabbis have
come out against the spaying or neutering of animals. Pray, would anyone

There has much discussion concerning the firebombing in Montreal. From all
indications it was a hate crime. It is very admirable that AJL is trying to
find ways to help the victims restore the library itself. Is this
organization missing the bigger picture? If in fact a library and place of

fine, but let's not kid ourselves that it makes much
difference.
It would be nice if other organizations - library
associations, free-speech groups, Canadian religious
groups, etc., made statements! If they all are being
