From the Mixed Up Files of Middle Grade Authors is a blog about
literature for kids around ages 8-12, kids who are beyond picture

A friend of mine is looking for a book about and/or including, tekhines,
prayers created by women, many of which are in Yiddish.
I think there was recent literature about this (I don't recall
specific titles), but the salesperson at my local Judaica store
wasn't much help.

Hello everyone:
I received an unusual request from a teacher for a Torah in in easy
Hebrew for children in the lower grades (1st, 2nd grade) to
understand. We have many volumes of Bible stories for children (in
English) as well as the Jewish Children's Bible, etc. but I could not

In answer to Shmuel Ben-Gad's query:
All of Uri Orlev's books, including those about the Shoah, are
written in Hebrew and translated into English. So are Gila Almagor's
Under the Domim Tree and Tamar Bergman's Along the Tracks. There are
other translated books originally written by
