I know what they mean for cataloging even when they talk about classification. I had to catalog some artist exhibition catalogs that are rare the other day. The only existing record to copy in OCLC had an LC number as Art-Collective biography, instead of Painting-special region-special artist. I

Yes, that's definitely true about classification, but this discussion is about cataloging. If you mean that you're not attached via a network to other libraries, that's true of many Judaic libraries.  But if you have web access, you can use shared cataloging.   Beth Dwoskin 2005 Calumet Ann
