I take everything Jewish and in good condition because I run a yearly book
sale. I box it up and place it in our synagogue's storage until the sale.
Whatever doesn't sell over 2-3 years I leave out for anyone to take and
whatever is left from that goes to our public library for their book sale.

Donations are a mixed blessing. You have already done what I would do.
However, sometimes I am able to sell some books and sometimes I know of
people who would like the donated books and I let them know. Two weeks ago

What do people do with unwanted donations? I have a box of all-Hebrew (to
the point where I can't even tell you what they are) books someone dropped
outside the library door. No name. there is an 11 volume Hebrew dictionary
(we have one on the shelf) but many of the others are a mystery.
