Yossi, I didn’t see anywhere that the publication in question was specifically by Ben Yehudah, so I gave a broader response. Sorry if I missed something. P.S. As cataloging moves to more inclusive conventions and terminology, BC and AD are being phased out in favor of BCE and CE, respectively.

Jasmin, Thank you for your message. The question is not when the Temple was destroyed, 68, 69 or 70 A.D. The question is what year did Ben Yehudah and his publications think that the Temple was destroyed and according to that year calculated the date on the published book or newspaper.

Hi, I think Robert meant that 1849 was 1916/1917 per the linked article Yossi had sent. 1849-1836 (the date in Yossi’s publication) is a difference of 13 years; 1916/1917-13 = 1903/1904. However, I’m not sure about Ben-Yehudah’s use of the date 69 CE as the year of the destruction of Bayit
