We have found that Permount works best with the aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Hi Brandi,
We don't do the PAP stain, but do have multiple stains programmed into our
Leica ST5020. It can easily handle both stain programs with switching out
containers.

I am shopping for a new automated stainer and would prefer one that I can do my
H&E stain as well as my PAP (GY AND NON-GY) stains on. I know that I'm asking

We use Thin Prep slides for our cytology and have had trouble with the slides

Same here for printing staying on. We use Thermo ColorFrost, slides have no
problems. It may depend on the finish the manufacturer uses for the paint on
the slides.

Gudrun,
We have 2 slide mates and we run our slides through all reagents and do not
have the issue you describe. The only issue we experienced was poor print
quality due to the type of paint on the frosted end of the slides. I recently

Dear histonetters,
we have problems with the stability of the print of our slide mates
(Thermo).
We use regular slides with frosted end. The print usually looks good and
stable at the time of printing.
But after staining the print comes off like peeled skin. Very easy to
remove.
We take care

Hello all,
Would anyone mind sharing their xylene substitute protocols for their automatic
staining, to include the mountant type for coverslipping? We have tried a few,
but without much success. We are currently trying Leica's Sub-X, also without
much success.
I greatly appreciate the insight
