Dear Bob,
I would just like to point out that the recommended freezing fluid for the
Bright Clini-RF Rapid -80c tissue freezer is 3M's Novec HFE-7100 not 7000 as
you state.

Dear Sue,
Defiantly yes, it is much safer and more eco friendly. We supply a suitable
dunking container with our Clin-RF as the specimens need to be contained to
stop them floating in the 3M's fluid.

I would not use any freezing aerosols if there is any suspicion of infection in
tissue or cryochamber has been used for prior sectioning without being
decontaminated. Depending on how fatty the tissue is you need to be in the
region -28 to -35 degs C on the specimen, knife and anti-roll plate,
You need to be at or below -28 degs C, also make sure that your knife and
anti-roll plate are at or below this temperature too.
Best regards

Dear Professor Bradley,
We manufacture plastic chucks and quick release holders to suit, mainly for
skin studies. The chucks fit plastic bottles for storage in LN2 and have one
way insertion tags for accurate reuse location in the quick release holder.

Dear Nele,
I hear of these problems very often. It would be worth your time looking for
any information on fresh frozen bone sections by Dr. Dodds, there should be a
number of papers he has published on good quality bone sectioning without
the use of the slow, expensive and troublesome tape
