I can't be sure if it was the last server update, the
one around the 14th, but for some reason when my
server gets a decent amount of people, it crashes

Have you tried running the server with the mods disabled? That should always
be the first thing to try.

Sorry if I missed something... I've read all the threads on the topic and
tried all the fixes... nothing works.
I run a HL1 Team Play Server on a Win2K server. The map cycle contains the
usual old school Valve maps, Boot_camp, Crossfire, etc.
I'm running Admin Mod with HPB Bots. The server runs
I just wanted to verify my information, after reading through the
archive. The update for this has been officially released and running
hldsupdatetool with -verify_all will update it and resolve the issue?
Is this applicable for HLDS for both Linux and Win32?
Thanks,
Eric

I don't know about Linux but I just ran hlupdatetool with -verify_all and it
appears to be working. I'll know if it's fixed in a few more hours.

Hi. I was trying to set up a CS server, but I can connect to my server, but
other people aren't able to. It doesn't even show my server in the server
list. If you could help me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

do you have a router/firewall? and have you opened the correct port in both
of them? you say you can connect lan, if you have a router be sure your
giving them your external ip address to connect to, you can find that at

Firewall is disabled. And no router. The server.cfg lists no sv_lan. I have a
modem box though, but I don't know what I would change in it.

If it's not showing up in the servers list, you probably have set the
region setting to the wrong number.
i believe 1 is correct or try 255.but i use 1 and my server can be seen
around the world.

Some modems have built in routers, make sure this isn't the case.

Hi guys,
I run SRCDS on a Windows XP machine with a P4 2.6GHz CPU, and around
512MB RAM.
I am curious to know from all the server admins out there, what you see
are the best practices for installing/configuring/running a SRCDS
machine running on a Windows based Operating system.

My apologies if this has been brought up, I just rejoined the list to
address this problem. Monday's (near as I can tell) server update killed
the ability to pull server logs with HLSW on HL2DM. (www.hlsw.org) This
is the ONLY program I've found that I can remotely admin my HL2DM server
with.
