So we cannot force client cvars anymore? That's nice.
I think we can expect cl_restrict_cheats_detection in next update.
Looking forward to that update.

Hopefully they are doing it this way to make people aware quickly of the

I don't agree with how they did it, but I can understand some of the "logic"
behind it now.

Yeah because S many server ops slowhack their clients. Im sorry if
you cant find a decent server to play at, but we all shouldnt have to

I have to say that this is an excellent update, server operators have been
slowhacking clients way too long.
Just a few days ago someone posted on this very list how to maliciously mess

It would sure be nice to know when Valve is going to get their heads out
of their asses.
Their API is useless. There is a reason nobody uses it...it has very
little functionality.
I usually dont post hate mail but this update is absolutely the worst
update I have ever seen.

Hi,
I think you all don't understand what this variable does (or I don't).
It protects the client from running commands done by the server admin.
For example some funtions of mods will not work anymore, for exmaple
Beetle cannot do a "say xy" on the client computer anymore.
This is total senseles
That's a client variable, not server.
cl_ variables are for cl_ients
Serverside fix is to remove the plugins trying to exec things on the client.

We can always foolishly hope that Valve have fixed all the issues that cause
server operators to install plugins like zBlock or CVAR-X since Valve kindly
left such functionality out of SRCDS or because of existing bugs that
require server operator
Seems this way, my servers running just banned me for blocking having my

This sucks - I realise some server admins may have been misbehaving and

What are the commands which are restricted, all?

Sorry, not trying to be arrogant, just ignorant. Is it unreasonable for us
to require that this list be English only? Perhaps Valve can create other
lists for non-English speaking but to be quite honest, I cannot read or
