If I can recall correctly, -nomaster disables all server communication and
broadcasts. Why do you want to disable the master server if it's for a lan
game and sv_lan 1 is set? Anywho, just re-enable the master server and it
will all work fine (use setmaster if it's really that big of an issue).
Th
that's a difficult concept ok

I doubt making a cvar would work as the plugins could simply override
it as they do now.

Is the server currently connected to the internet and/or did you add an ip
parameter? Then this might be the problem.

Now the server should be visible in your game-browser - except for 2 cases:
1) either your server or/and your client has internetaccess at the same time

If you aren't modifying game memory (i.e. hooking functions), then VAC won't

I don't know how VAC works, but if it's loaded via a client side plugin, I
doubt VAC sees it as an "external" program altering the game's memory space.
But not knowing how VAC works, there's no telling what they look for or how
they are detecting it.

Hi there,
I just try to start a dedicated Counterstrike 1.6 Server with
./hlds_run -game cstrike -insecure -nomaster +sv_lan 1 +maxplayers 12 +map
de_dust -debug
No such debug.log was created. Variations with -port and/ort -ip don't
change anything.
The server starts, but isn't listed at steam
