Error number 35 means the TCP/IP connection between the server and our
authentication server stalled (i.e packets stopped being transmitted

This has been passed on to the guys who implemented it, they are looking
into it. I have no ETA on a fix (as we don't know what is causing the
problem yet).

a mod and use it that way (but you can't use the gamedir name of
cstrike, you need to rename it).

Gamespy can (and do to my knowledge) get server lists and statistics
from the Steam Master servers, as can any other 3rd party server listing
tool.

It was caused when someone maliciously sent a malformed fragmented out
of band UDP packet (causing a portion of the stack to be overwritten
that shouldn't be). The problem wasn't in the wild (a security
researcher pointed it out to us).
