Well, this is mature. Thank you for filling my inbox with crap.
I'm sure I answered your question, like, two weeks ago. Secondly, why
are you watching the console in the first place? Do you not have
anything better to do?

Hello,
Allowing custom maps when sv_pure 2 is set introduces complications.
Lots of custom maps have their own models, textures, sounds and various
other assets, all of which would need to be downloaded, and it _could_
be possible for some of these assets to collide with (read: overwrite)
Hello,

Short I have to continuously try and make my point because I'm
impatient answer:
Everyone knows about this. It's been around for months (if not years).
Just ignore it like everyone else.

Hi,
You make a good point, but I am running the server as is and my map
rotation on the server is simply de_dust, cs_office, de_dust2 and
cs_italy. Also, if there was no leak, regardless of map changing, the
total number would still go down or level out over averages and not have

Hi,
Your graphs do not share not the same comparison to my scenario, as I am
running a single Counter-Strike: Source server in my test.
Therefore, a conclusion can be drawn in that the possible memory leak is
solely in CS:S. While CS:S shares the same engine as HL2:DM, the two
games are

Hi,
As promised, here is a collection of memory readings I manually took

These were taken based on what Process Explorer was saying (the
SysInternals task manager replacement). You'll see from
Task Manager on Windows and top

there is a potential memory leak - the numbers are ridiculously high
compared to other processes using the same diagnostic tools.
Something to look at, surely?

I too am a developer, and have been for many years. While you are right

Microsoft have changed quite a bit in how Internet Explorer can be
embedded with version 7, unlike prior versions which were heavily
integrated with the operating system - one of these changes will affect
the way Steam creates/destroys the associated window.

Hi there,
Replying to myself, I found srcds.exe command line options on the
developer wiki (at

I wasn't aware of the -console option (more used to running servers on

Listen servers - don't bother ;)
