So does this mean we are getting CSS ported to the Orange Box engine? That
would be welcome news as it would drastically cut down on the number of
engine and server exploits out there.

I had an issue on one of my servers where it *said* it was fully updated
(ran it 5 times) but the engine.dll (in orangebox\bin) was a 0 byte size
file as opposed to a normal sized one.
It took me a bit to find the problem so I thought I'd share in case anyone

Anyone else getting severe lag after this update? Related to the Steam Cloud
issues?

Had horrible experiences with ArtofWar's customer service. I would highly
recommend against them. Slow, unable to do simple things to fix the servers
in a timely manner. Left them and haven't looked back.
Just keep in mind you always get what you pay for. If it looks too good to

Glad to know it isn't just our servers, I've spent the last 15 minutes
looking over the packet logs trying to determine a cause. :D

Dumb question, what are PZ's?
By context I gather they mean 'special infected' or the boomer, smoker,
hunter, charger etc...
But what does PZ stand for? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh noes! Valve is making us update our servers so they can't be DoSed or
exploited or crashed! The world is ending
Seriously, Valve does an absolutely superb job of keeping TF2 up to date. If
you are too lazy to update your servers then maybe you shouldn't run them.
Or have a TFC server,
Absolutely, I like getting the listserv notifications because the blog only
informs us of major major updates. I just wish they would give an
aproximate time. Even just in the next 6 hours would be good enough.
And my bet for a time is 8:30 CST.

I humbly apologize for derailing this thread by asking a legitimate question
with a touch of humor. I also had no idea there were rules for invoking

So here is a dumb question...
Why does ever single L4D2 update overwrite the MOTD file with the default
that directs here: http://www.l4d.com/l4d2_servermessage/
What is the point? Or did Valve just forget to unflag that file as included
in the update?
Or am I the only person who this annoys?
Indeed, if someone could upload the parser somewhere that it could be
available. There are definitely some steam groups that I would like to ban
off of our servers... Additionally, who is the author of it? Is it open
source? I'd love to crack it open and see how you accomplished it.
