I think it's more that someone posted the command line to start it on this list.
I'm sure that when it is released we will at least get a 'there will
be a source update in the next few hours' email even if it doesn't say
VAC on it.
Remember it has been stated that when VAC is released it will be

The author of srcdsbooster is hanging around here somewhere...
(give me a readme for the zip dooode!)
You can download srcdsbooster and other useful utilities from the
download page http://www.noclans.com/downloads.htm
Or the direct link:

Ahhh I worked it out hy some of you aren't some of you aren't getting the
updates you should be getting.
1. tickrate is a command line option so set in your startup cmd line
-tickrate 66 or -tickrate 100
2. You must ping boost your server by cha
Sounds unlikelyAt least I've never observed that on any client
computer, and I've seen a few in my time :)
You known that the figures your a looking for, are on the right hand
side (xx.x/s) ? (The left hand side is packet size)
net_maxfragments has nothing to do with it - The updates/s that are
you make reference to srcdsbooster is this an addon??? I am not familar with
this option

Whisper,
I know for a fact that the cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate to not directly
correlate to the same values in the netgraph. I can have both values on
default of 20 and 30 on my client and still get 70-100 for the in and out
values in the netgraph. You can try changing net_maxfragments to see
to me for large HL2 servers.

Perhaps my understanding of this process is incorrect, but lets look at this
a tad.
We are talking about up
Interesting.
Seems like the two right hand columns never change.
On the thinkpad I get a range of:
fps: 100ping: 58ms
in : 602.00 k/s33.9/s
out: 601.20 k/s33.9/s
loss: 0choke: 0
to
fps: 200ping: 58ms
in : 602.00 k/s33.9/s
out: 602.00 k/s33.9/s
loss
see what happens when you set
fps_max 999
sv_minrate 5000
sv_maxrate
sv_minupdaterate 45
sv_maxupdaterate 100
and then goof around with:
sv_unlag 1 // enables unlag
sv_maxunlag .5 // usually set to 1 second but since you have your
minrate high you must not have laggers anyway

Anyhow I tested it out with my client set to cl_updaterate 150 cl_cmdrate

Whoops, I forgot, I run a tickrate of 45 on the 20
slot server and default tickrate on the 12 man.

Since we are on the topic. I would like to ask a
question for anyone willing to help.
On our server (Dual 1ghz CPU's,2.5gb ram) I keep two
Source servers running 1 @ 20 slot & 1 @ 12 slot.
I also run the srcdsbooster and fps_max 300
sv_minrate 5000
sv_maxrate
sv_minupdaterate 13

The thing I have found is that to even get client IN/OUT Values to = the
tickrate of the server I had to boost the sv_maxupdate rate even when
running tickrates below 100 eg. 66, 60, 50 and 30.
tickrate 30 is not a problem because default sv_maxu
Seems we have interested admins on this topic so I have more variables
to consider.
I have my server.cfg max_fps set to 999 and I run the srcdsbooster
resulting in the server console displaying 500fps +/- 25.
Using the srcdsbooster provides the performance needed to keep the
players in the server w

I'm not sure why this is so, but the setup your are using will result in about
60-70 updates/s.
If you want to go higher, you need to increase the cl_updaterate - Dont ask me
why, 101 should be enough, but it is not.
This goes for all configurations, for some reason setting

Hi guys
What is the most updates a second you can get a client to receive?
Even with the following server & client settings we can only seem to manage
66-75 updates a second according to net_graph 3
*Server*
sv_maxrate 2
sv_maxupdaterate 15
18 matches
