Think I have found part of the problem. When I went to make a
steam account for the stand alone server. I couldn't get it to
work, so I reinstalled hldsupdatetool over the updated version.
Then it let me -create a new account. I then double clicked on
hldsupdatetool to re-update itself, not knowing
Try renaming to d:\cstrike and
then running.

Perhaps the underscores are killing it? Try renaming to d:\cstrike and
then running.

When I ran srcds.BAT it wouldn't update properly so I deleted all the files,
except srcds.BAT. I downloaded hldsupdatetool.exe from SteamPowered.com.
