Same here. What is holding up the shutdown is the console window.

if you reboot via a command like shutdown.exe you can use the -f switch to
force them to close dex

There is a way, this will close everything but will not save any data, for
example if you have notepad open it will not save the file.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK to start Registry
Editor.
Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
