game server user.

Eek, kernel troubles are not what I need. My boxes are hosted remotely, so
if I kernel compile goes bad then I'm screwed. What kinds of issues were you
having? Were you using an rpm or source?

Well what purpose does it serve? And is it possible that it was
interfering with my Battlefield 1942 gaming?
I'm also getting complaints of increased lag That doesn't
really seem possible...

Hi. I am setting up my servers to run chroot, and for some reason the vac
module will not download properly when it's setup this way. Any ideas why
this might be? Where does the module actually download to? Does it go on the
filesystem somewhere? Does it use any special libraries?

I tried 2.4.9 on the box before I replaced it with Debian, I had more
troubles than it was worth, and I prefer Debian anyway :D (heh, i am

Wow... very good to know I was wondering why my freebsd boxes
outperformed redhat by so much.

Howdy,
Running multiple HLDS on RedHat with a Pentium P4 CPU (perhaps its a
linux 2.4 kernel issue, rather than a RedHat issue) had been brought up
a few times over the past month, it seems that there is a problem that
causes multiple HLDS processes to use more CPU than they need, and lag

Hi,
I have a very strange problem of cpu use.
If I ran 2 or more HL servers, the cpu is totally used. If only one server
is started, cpu is only use by 20%.
2 serveurs <> 2 * 20% cpu !
I run HL server on a redhat linux distrib (7.2, kernel 2.4.19). The box is a
P4 with 1GB RAM.
Anyone has thi

Ok, that looks to have done it. Now... What's with the movement
when in spec? I seem to notice this happening again, where you
float in a diamond while in spectator mode.

The UA forums are useless... full of a bunch of n00bs all asking

No, the CS 1.6 Beta and server is for windows currently. We get
the final version, then an "a" patch a few days after that cause
they don't let us beta test anything. ;P
