FDC is crap.
check out webhostingtalk.com and use the search feature.
Also - Cogent is crap for game servers. Cogent is the dollar store of
bandwidth providers. High latency. Its good for website hosting and thats
about it. If you want good colo try dedicatednow.com or if you just want a
server 1
happens to everyone, doesnt affect anything, dont worry about it

What am I missing?
You didn't tell hlds_run which game you want to run. So it probably
runs a HLDM server, not a HL2MP server. I don't know for sure, but I
don't think there is a "gasworks" map in the standard
It doesn't look like they actually use any Level3 right now, at least on the
inbound.

The "100 mbps" unmetered deal doesn't allow you to take all of the
bandwidth. Yes, you are on that 100 mbps port, and you burst to whatever
bandwidth there is, but the total bandwidth is 100 mbps. FDC probably has
at least hundreds... to thousands of machines in that one port.
If you research it
Hello All
Just asking when the following bug will be fixed:
Executing dedicated server config file

no representative texture for material sprites/zerogxplode
CMaterial::GetNumAnimationFrames:
no representative texture for material sprites/wxplo1

By the way, I asked this question originally awhile ago, and want to finally
give my final finding. If anyone wants cheap colocation, and wants to host
a lot of CS servers, (and even webservers once you see what I'm talkin
about), look at http://www.fdcservers.net/colocation.html . 100 Mbit
burst
Looking at that page for FDC, be careful. I see two providers, Level 3 and
Cogent. Level 3 is good, but if you do a lot of traffic across Cogent for a
game server you're going to have headaches.

I've downloaded and installed hldsupdatetool.bin to a new directory.
Ran it which installed steam, ran steam which updated steam. Ran steam
again to update/install hl2dm. Now everything looks fine.
When I run:
./hlds_run -nomaster -insecure +sv_lan 1 +maxplayers 4 +map gasworks
I see:
Auto detect
