Do you run with a stock kernel if so then that would easily explain the difference. The newer linux's have a kernel HZ of 1000 where as FBSD has 100 this can easily be changed. 4.X requires a kernel recompile 5.X can be set it on boot. Some people go with 1000 HZ be we found that a number of

I'm also running 200hz on a 4.x machine. It seemed to give the best performance for CPU tradeoff. I tested 100, 200, 500 and 1000. 1000 just ate way too much CPU and made it difficult to run more than 1 server on a dual 2.8 xeon. Just my experiences with hz on FBSD. -Andy Do you run with a stock
