It appears that D-FENS and serversecurity are broken atleast on linux.
They cause random crashes.

The funny thing is that the Linux never crashed(which is good news)
I eventually just cut the smod out on the windows one.

I have reported this to Valve already and expected a fix yesterday,
unfortunatly, they did not (should be an easy fix). Hopefully they will fix
it.

HL2 Master Servers moved to other IPs due to a re-organisation of physical
location and hardware in datacenter. Steam upgraded its network and server
backend over the past few months. A lot of things to make HL2 support even
better.
Now I ask some news about HL1. Its last update was beta
All,
When i have my console open, typing status does not always give me a reply
.. only it takes 3 to 4 time before it works sometimes.
This issue was out there before and I thought they would fix it but it seems
not.
Its random too, status, status,
I actually just tried this out myself - seems to not like when you
give it status in quick succession, this _does_ break a few things
(such as using SRCDS.py to query the server multiple times).
I don't think it was doing this before.

Been a problem for some time, discussed on the Windows list.
I think it's some anti-spam thing that limited queries to one per X seconds.

Doesn't really fix the issue, and HLSW is a program. I don't need a
gui I write my own things for my website - and if multiple people go
to it at once, one person gets the player list, the other gets nothing
because status didn't return anything.

you could pull a status, then cache it for a couple of min's and let the
people at the website see that.
Then run a cron X amount of sec's to update the list.
