Along this note though, if you send the incorrect password too many times and ARE banned, then if you unban that IP and start using the correct password, even a 'successful' challenge claims to be unsuccessful. The only way to escape this cycle is to restart the server. Is it possible to fix that?

I run into this problem ALL THE TIME with my dlink home router. The routing tables get overloaded and I have to reboot the router. Also, I think limits can be placed on how many connections can be made from a single IP. But I believe its most likely cause by the router. __
