Oops, sorry about the extra email there.
Can someone confirm the number of spawn points dust2 is supposed to
have? I run a 32 player server, but only 25 people can join this map.
I've tried opening a ticket with Valve as well as posting on the
steampowered forums and have received no response.

It doesn't look like they actually use any Level3 right now, at least on the

We tried it. You'll get high latencies if it's run anywhere but the home node
(not unplayable, but maybe 20-40ms higher than normal, depending on the speed
of the machines and network connections). The problem is that the game is
I/O-heavy, and most I/O must go through the home node in an

Odd, I just refreshed our server list and I had 8 different CS:S servers
on 8
different physical machines spanning three different cities
You may also want to have a script run ever few minutes that checks to see if
all the servers are online. If one is down for a couple of polling periods,
send the command to restart it. That's what we do (in addition to some other
measures).

I would suspect that this is because the win32 server is also showing client
cvars/ccoms. rcon and rcon_address aren't usable on a server.

It's possible that your problem would be a linux bug, since it doesn't seem to
happen for me on my win32 servers:

We've seen this happen with multiple win32 servers as well. It just started
today.
Sounds like it might be an exploit.

Yes, same one. I'm probably the only Edge100x anywhere ;). Too many times I
hear gurus claiming that InterNAP is no good, and it was time somebody who
actually has extensive experience working closely with InterNAP weighed in.
The thread has gotten a little out of hand.

I can understand where u are coming from but it still doesn't in anyway

Win32HLDS being the best.
HLDS has /always/ run better under Win32.
I noticed it years ago when I first started running servers. It broke my heart

Read the linked thread on the last page -- it becomes more clear that it was

Stan, the numbers along the bottom of the graph are times of the day. It
becomes more clear when you click the graph and the entire MRTG history page
shows up. It's a standard MRTG x axis quantity.
