I was wondering the same thing myself, SetEntProp has been around for...years
now.

If I remember correctly it saves a snapshot of your character (same as it
does between waves) that it will set you back as upon rejoining the server.

But at the same time, it IS the early days of SteamCmd, which is the perfect
time for the community to voice their opinions, before there's a massive
amount of legacy support and that kind of thing, it is...in development
still.

Will this be resolved for all mods? (Same issue was reportedly effecting all
mods, according to the HL Coders mailing list)

I was having the exact same issue - just keep trying, took me about a dozen
tries at that point. I read that disabling steamguard completely helps, but
if it did end up helping...the help was far from instantaneous.

If I remember correctly, the reason that valve has not done this in the past is
to prevent server operators from basically having the power to redirect
multiple players to the same server by abusing hostnames. They are able to do
this by either starting up a dozen servers, each claiming the
I'm WELL aware of the benefits, I just had to play a bit of a devil's

this arrangement.

I just wish people wouldn't abuse redirection - I've had some mighty good
ideas over the years, ideas such as only having ONE server show up on the
list, redirecting to multiple servers, based on either skill, or RPG-style
level, it could be such a useful tool!

There would be no, or at least much less cause to panic if we had any sort
of idea at all of what is going on, their reluctance to comment could very
well mean anything, but in some ways I'm more inclined to think the worst of
such a delay, not the best.

Sourcemod is just fine on our servers, only one plugin is messed up, I
recommend disabling any unnecessary plugins and making sure to update to the
latest stable release.

Is valve under some sort of major attack? I've noticed that the forums were
hacked, the VAC servers are down, and several parts of the site (such as the
steam store) won't load and are throwing out errors...this seems rather
serious. and maybe it's just where I've been looking, but I haven't seen

Store issues propably are not related to this. While back it has shown
errors or loading slowly on a game release and MW3 is about to do that
on rest of the world. Currently it works fine for me.

I almost think that having Valve require that a SteamID must be associated

saying becomes associated directly with you and excessive trolling and
complaining could be dealt with swiftly and easily) but at the same time,

Out of curiosity, why should the client decide when a critical hit occurs? I
can see some benefit to it, but mostly I see it as exploitable.
