The HLDS list has a thread on the same issue. Many servers seeing the problem.

The last few updates have occurred in the wee hours of Saturday or Sunday
morning Australian time, leaving our servers idle for many hours until someone
wakes up and sees that an update is needed.

Seeing some serious weirdness with the L4D2 SRCDS in forked mode.
I'm running several hundred L4D2 forks across multiple CentOS 5 machines.
Several times now I've noticed all forks on a server dying, and I think I've
figured out why.
In L4D, you couldn't issue any commands on the forked server
I'm guessing he doesn't have the +map command in his command line.
I've got 3 machines running a whole mess of forks, all responding.

We're running 8 servers per core on 5450s. 64 forks per 2 socket server. 16GB
is more than enough on Linux.
We've had an entirely server almost full, the CPUs are nearly maxed out but we
didn't get any performance complaints.

4 servers running a total of 256 forks all pretty much empty for the past 24
hours.
Nothing shows up in the steam group listing. I've only managed to join one of
our servers using the server browser. Getting lots of complaints from gamers
