Personally, once I find a few servers I like, they make it into my
favorites and I rarely go looking for new ones. But, that's just me.

Doubt it. Valve instigated this by allowing the new unlockable system
work with players just idling in spawn rooms, or even as spectators
(rather than gameplay actions). I'm sure they'll find a way to fix it,
but I really don't see them blacklist/banning anyone for this.
I'm sure that you'll enjoy having all
10 of them eventually. Too bad you can't duel wield anything.

I think Matt was looking for a more exact time frame window. As it
stands, it could be anywhere between midnight PST tonight to just before
midnight tomorrow night. That isn't exactly a good window of

Good question, wrong list. I suggest signing up to the HLCoders list and
asking there:

I don't compile on linux, so I don't have an answer, but I'm sure there are

Requiring the net for installation and authentication is one thing, but to
require the CD for retail purchasers while it's not required from Steam
purchasers, is going a bit too far to make it inconvienient for non-steam
purchasers.

of your recent arguments, PB is not a solution. If they can get

Who said I was bitter? If anything along the modding subject, it's more
towards Valve's lack of attention to maintaining the TFC MOD. As for my
point, I was simply stating
> Yeah.. because we all know VALVe is incapable of making a good game.
> [/sarcasm]

They make a good game... just haven't made a good original MOD. But,
they're pretty good at grabbing MODs from others and making $$ off of them.
Then again, there are those MODs that come out of the gates nicely
Last I heard (sometime over a year ago), Erik had mentioned that CS 2 and TF
2 will be sold as complete games, not as a MOD. But, I'd bet that a 3rd
party MOD team will create a TF style MOD within the first 6 months after
the final SDK is released. As history has shown, it'll probably pwn Valve'
rnet getting cleaned up. Hopefully,
with a DDoS this size will get these ISPs to wake up and do more than simply
blocking a single IP. O_o
