when people take time off work gets a bit lax etc. No news is good news -

I totally agree. In the last 14 days, VAC has caught 1 player on my server.
That's pathetic. It's har

No they don't!
HLGuard is server side, and can only prevent information from being sent to
the client, while CDeath was server side and hooked into openGL, and had
complete control on the client (theoretically, of course :>).
Correct me if i'm wrong, but CDeath also prevented hooking?

Yes, but you have no way of knowing if CD would be able to stop the cheats
that live today, or even if it did, if it would be

No, I can't. (Yes, I can but for different reasons). There are
over 125 MODs available for HL IIRC. There are at least 10 popular
multiplayer MODs that you will find ser

Apparently CD development stopped in July. Which brings me back to
my question if it is effective against current cheats.

As far as I
As far as I know you can't use CD on a mod that's VAC-protected.
I think CD still works on no-VAC mods.
And this guy had CD up-to-date at least untill Valve introduced VAC.
I've never felt so "secure" when my cs-servers ran CD.
It realy worked!
So until Valve convinces me, which they still haven't,
Hm... Was there any BETA (really beta, the ones that are released
for testing only) of CS 1.6 released ?
Because, from the URL below I found this:
Counter Strike 1.6 Hacks ...
multihack, new : fps fix on the menu and added target filter
The readme file is in Chinese AND then English...

You do realize, however, that your servers will never ever be
very well said.
