The question was who is making Schmidt model horns today.
Conn stopped making its Schmidt model in about 1935.
Yamaha made its 863 Schmidt model from about 1982-1993.

My 8D has plenty of high Bb's, as many as I do. You may borrow a few. You may
need to experiment with fingerings. I have some trouble with the high Ab. T2 is
flat, T23 is in tune but slippery. However, 23 on the F side is solid and in
tune. YMMV.

Mark,
In general, the Kruspe horns usually have a larger bell and throat, the
Geyers have medium and medium large throat and bell. This tends to make the
Kruspe an instrument good for that big orchestral sound and the Geyer more
appropriate for smaller groups, chamber music solo etc. The larger

Q: Why does a bagpiper walk when he plays?

Hi all,
I feel duty bound to present an alternative view on this paragraph by
