Sometimes the original publisher can provide a clue. Breitkopf H., for example, might possibly indicate that Gottwald worked in the Leipzig area. I don't know who published Gottwald's music, but it might be worth a look. Cundy-Bettoney wouldn't help, obviously. Apart from this, I would ask
