Our price for the 2 horn-bell MB case shipped to any US address is
$239 for the nylon version and $304 for the leather. I would also note that
if you already have an MB6 or MB7 case, then you can carry two bell flares
in those cases (I've carried my two bells this way for several years with
I carry two bells (medium and large)together (the medium fits in the
large) with protection betwixt them in my MB7 case.

A snare drum case works well, with a little padding (towel or whatever).

I use the Marcus Bonna bell case that holds up to 2 flares. It's light and
offers good protection. You can see it at

No, but you could buy some leatherette or such and have a local
seamstress or upholsterer make you something pretty easily. My wife
sews a lot and can make all sorts of bags and protectors with her
trusty Bernina. Sketch out your ideas for what you want and try a
good seamstress.

Contact Dave Messina. He can make a case for anything. They are very high
quality.

I'm thinking that perhaps a reupholsterer could make a bag or a custom
gig bag.

So, now that IHS is over and you've all had a chance to rest a little,
please share with the group what horns, accessories and gadgets that you
tried. Tell us what you liked or disliked about them.
This is for morbid curiosity more than anything else sinc
What I also find interesting is that in the case of E. Schmid to be a
dealer you need to stockthe horns.
Maybe with the proximity of the craftsman it is expected that you will
travel to the factory to try out a horn in Germany?

Greetings -
Ouch! Did I make a mistake!
So, I have a detachable bell Chinese Bb horn for sale. It's in excellent
condition, of course, since it's hardly been out
of the case. I can send pictures - just ask.
If you want it, and can receive it somewhere in the US, just tell me how
much you want
That makes me curious -
How then can those same makers keep horns in stock in stores here in the US?
Just a quick survey of popular US websites and known vendors puts the number
of Hoyers in the hundreds, Alexanders in the 10-20 range, Otto and Durk have
a handful of horns in various shops around
I doubt, if you will find shops carrying horns of different
brands in Berlin. Most players here order from the makers
Alexander, Otto, Mönnig, Hoyer, Dürk & others directly. As
the market is that volatile, no shop can afford to keep
different brans of horns with all possible different models
