Out of all the Star Trek movies, I go nuts over "Star
Trek: First Contact." Music by Goldsmith. There is
this WONDERFUL horn solo, performed by Brian O'Connor,
in the beginning credits.
It was so good, my sister and I nearly left after the
music, forgetting that there was a movie to be viewed.
Well, for a really quick fix, I found some styrofoam
cups. Got a clean one, cut and glued a few pieces into
an appropriate shape, and voila! It seems to have done
the trick for now, until it gets sent to the shop.
I would have used cork, but couldn't find any wine
drinkers. Considering I work alo

as few mistakes as possible, help make a difference,
then move on.

For me, the best that I've played so far would be any of Mozart's Horn
Concertos, "Alleluia, Laudemus Te" by Alfred Reed, "Colonial Song" by Percy
Grainger and some works by Eric Ewazen, "Symphony in Brass" and "The Art of the
City." I haven't played his "Grand Canyon Octet" yet, but it's so wo
piece off isn't practical. I'd like ideas
on what I could do to add a little bit of weight to balance my horn.
