I just had to share this... We're hosting the All-District Band here this
weekend at our University. One of the middle school horn players was having a
terrible time getting a decent sound out of her instrument. This was obviously
unusual for her, because she was sitting at the top of the sect
My faculty WW 5tet did this piece in October for a kiddie concert, and for our
"Halloween" recital, with costumes! Our arrangement was by Cramer, published
by TrevCo Music. It was a nice arrangement, but we made a few adjustments,
with some small cuts, etc. I don't remember having any wrong n
I played this with the Greenville (SC) Symphony last season. I had consulted a

what suggestions you might have.
So, is there a piece you think doesn't get played as much as it should?
Maybe it's out of print, etc.

It's good to know we're not alone!

I first heard this piece on a Tuckwell CD, "Baroque Horn Concertos," and really
liked it. I performed it on a recital a couple years ago, with organ
accompaniment. It's a lot of fun to play, and it worked nicely with organ.

I've been putting off getting my horn insured. What kind of policies do any of you
have? Does it cover the horn wherever you go with it? What can I expect to pay
monthly?

Nobody seems to be mentioning solo CDs. Michael Thompson's "Golden Echo," recently
re-released by Osmun, changed my life as a horn player when I first heard it several
years ago. I still listen to it regularly for inspiration.
Best wishes,
k, and the Barboteu's are almost $40 each!!
