I would caution that the stopping valve is NOT a 1/2 step valve, rather a 3/4 step valve, designed to compensate for the fact that when stopping in Bb the effect is more than 1/2 step.  Thus that is why it is on the Bb side of the horn.  There is no key change that is effective when using it,  [
