Both the Balu and the Kowalchuk mutes are excellent mutes. Since you
already have one that 'sizzles,' I would point you more towards the
Kowalchuk Canadian Maple eh. I own both brands and find the Balu has more
of that sizzle you are talking about no doubt due to its fiberglass body.

Look into Ion Balu's mutes http://ionbalu.com/. They provide a rich even sound
with excellent intonation, and the mutes are beautiful.
