The horn Mr. Hatfield played at KBHC is a Lawson, not a Lawsonized Holton.

To clear up Mr. Hatfield, I'm pretty sure his Holton is severly
lawsonized... bell, valves, leadpipe, etc... don't quote me on this though.

Mr. Tuckwell tried to play on his model horn, but eventually abandoned it for
his trusty kruspe(hey that rhymed). If i'm not mistaken, he had his name
removed from that model.
The reality is, very few, if any, professionals play Holtons. I think this
speaks volumes about their quality.

I'm decidedly in the Elkhart 8-D camp, but I believe Barry Tuckwell and Michael
Hatfield are notable Holton players.

It is my understanding from one of his successful students that Mr. Farkas
played on a Geyer and also used an 8D. The horn in his book certainly looks
like a Geyer wrap horn. Mr. Jones played on the silver Kruspe m
