A couple of weeks ago I asked for advice about a part in A-flat horn. I was concerned
that the slow movement which had a really big horn part would be SUPER high. Well...
just to let you know, turns out that the slow mvmt was horn in E-flat, and this fact
was missing from the
hand, use a Bb-/high-F-descant
horn, but remove the Bb-slides. So you might get the advantage of the
high-F combined with the advantage of more resonating mass.

I have to prepare a Sinfonia by Johann Baptist Wanhal. It is AE203, in A-Flat. The
second movement has a rather involved horn part... marked in Horn in A-Flat. Does
anyone know whether this should be A-Flat ALTO or BASSO?
