Terry I build in a virtual machine. I'm using virutal box. This way I can create *.debs, but could create *.rpm as well on a vanilla system. You might try this and then direct it to /usr/local or /opt/hugin_svn, etc. > Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 18:17:51 -0800 > Subject: [hugin-ptx] Some he

That's correct about the Gigapan, which I found while searching, at $279. It is also true that it won't support an SLR due to (I guess) mechanical limitations. I've heard they're going to have another that will be larger and more expensive. It's an "introductory beta price", whatever that means.

Actually, getting a good shot can be challenging as well depending upon your POV. There are thousands of landscapes, etc. There are few panos that stand out as unique. > Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2009 09:16:35 + > From: pwom...@papermule.co.uk > To: hugin-ptx@googlegroups.com > Subject: [hu

Actually i think there are some real challenges in projection by taking a photo at a very low point. More importantly I think I can take a panoramice at ground level. the real trick will be to take one at that point and still be able to remove the tripod from the photo. :) I guess i saw the

Hi I pretty much agree with Yuv. If the purpose is to collect exceptional images, there are more than enough places (and not enough images) for that already. If the aim is to stimulate creative solutions to technical problems, there is probably not much need for stimulation in this field, whic
