suggestion. On the stitcher tab, I chose to output all stacks and
remapped images for both the HDR and the enfused image.
The enfused final image looks fine, as do all the remapped images and

I just went to sourceforge and downloaded enblend-enfuse-4.0-mac and
ran enblend-openmp from the command line with exacly the same flags as
from hugin. The blended panorama stitched together in less than 2
hours, so problem solved at least for me
