I actually agree... I do climb too and have made hand-held panoramas
with great success with Hugin. When the closest object is fairly
distant, and there are no straight lines (like buildings), there is
not so strong requirement on good precision alignment - handheld in

Hi Torger,
though I understand your point of view, my perception is different: Many
programs might be able to produce perfect results out of perfect input
(more or less easily), but one particular advantage of hugin is, that it
can deal with less-than-perfect input quite well. (At least there i
Here's what I think;
I don't think it is so much value in being able to make decent
panoramas out of poor inputs. What is important to me is being able to
make great panoramas out of good input. Really seamless professional
productions.
With poor input, you really cannot make seams invisible whil

I think you don't get it. Nobody has control over "other builds", so you
writing "don't remove other builds" is like you telling to the Sun to rise on

Dale I have shared my thoughts about APP pro in detail.

Ok, Dont remove other builds. But there must be fully working fully updated
Official builds. Builds which are labelled as OFFICIAL. I am using
opensource software and I have not seen 3, 4 builds of openoffice. There is
only one I download. Dont restrict others.
Fast preview issue in Zoran's build
Yuv,
Making false accusations is poor etiquette. APPro Trial won't let you save
back the CP's. Please read the e-mails carefully before you make a decision
to respond.

Hi Yuv,
Things going in wrong direction. We are not here for conflicts. This group
has maintained a positive and friendly tone.
I agree with you and dont go into comparisons anymore. But I only highlight
issues to improve our software Hugin.
Last but not least, you claim it is Hugin. Recent thr

IMHO it is more correct to state that "APPro operated by Dale Beams beats
Hugin operated by Dale Beams hands down".
I bet that Hugin operated by Bruno Postle would beat APPro operated by Dale
a good GUI. I sit between worlds,
user/tester/dev/ I'm an oldie who doesn't need to prove anything, but would
enjoy just using the software.

Hi Yuv,
I too get familiar problems. But I have found a way out. I know its not
proper way of doing things.
First I load images into Autopano Pro Trial and get this first image in very
less time. Than I export its PTO file. Load it in hugin and its final image
is still intact or pre-alligned. Aut
A thousand panos? again, I question the purpose. Yes, you'll get some data
to mine, but what for? Over the years I've used plenty of stitching software
for plenty of panos.
Some is perspective corrected, some not. Is lack/presence of perspective
correction a feature or a bug? The answer de
FWIW i have tried similar comparisons, and there are some panos which
will stitch perfectly on one program and not another.
try it with a thousand panos, and maybe you'll have some interesting
conclusions.until then, it's just anecdotal
