I never learned to create apps because most of my projects are on the web.
Not the best solution for offline / developing world schools, but if you
get started with HTML, you then can develop a PhoneGap app to contain the
content off
I watched this video with some of the OLPC team at the Ministry of
Education, Marshall Islands. As you might imagine, the video was
enlightening but somewhat threatening. A speech saying the education
system is obsolete! Students using computers without anyone deciding what
they should learn!

The OPDS format is a catalog of links, so it should be able to support
images, audio, and video. Librivox.org will be coming out with an OPDS
feed of their audiobooks soon. You could also work with OPDS to include
multiple descriptions ( )
and show the best available one for the user.

would be an activity or install by now. I am waiting for Google Cloud

Can you check if Flash is working and Gnash (the XO's free alternative to
Flash) is uninstalled?
If Flash is working on the 1.5, you should be able to view YouTube videos.
If you haven't uninstalled Gnash, which can interfere with Flash, it's
