Hi,
I am providing support to a site running a very old version (OS/390 v2.8)
They have asked me to produce a report of programs (load modules) being used.
I know how to produce a report of batch programs by analyzing the SMF type 30
records.
They have also asked for programs run under CICS.
Hi,
We are in the process of installing z/OS 1.13.
When we tried to start one of the CICS regions, we received a JCL ERROR.
When we looked at the output we saw that the procedure was an older version.
We fixed the procedure, and tried to start CICS again.
We received a JCL error again.
When we
Yes, and everything looks OK.
We ended up removing the offending proclib and then adding it back, and that
fixed the problem.
This might be fine on a test system, but I wouldn't want to do it on a
production system.

Hi,
We wrote an OPS rule that changes the service class for jobs in a certain class
in certain conditions.
For some jobs we get the following message:
IRA702I RESET NOT VALID FOR V110GA37. IT IS A SYSTEM-CONTROLLED ADDRESS SPACE
Changing the Service class for the same job using SDSF works
I think we've solved the problem.
We were using $HASP373 to trigger the rule. It seems that this is a bit early
in the jobs life cycle, when It is running in a privileged status.
We changed the trigger to IEF403I, and the rule now runs fine.
Thanks for your help.

How do I start SDSF from within REXX and then pass commands to it, for example,
start SDSF issue the PREFIX command and then the ST command.
Is this possible?

What the user wants to do is:
Write a REXX program that will take the job name from the current cursor
position and then start SDSF with that job name as a prefix.
This is online, under ISPF.

The part we are having problems with is passing the parameters to SDSF.
We know how to do everything else.

Hi,
I am having problems using debug tool to debug called programs.
I have two COBOL programs, DEBUGNW3 and DEBUGNW4.
I compiled DEBUGNW4 and then DEBUGNW3.
DEBUGSW3 has the command CALL ‘DEBUGNW4’ in it.
Running the program without Debug Tool works fine.
When I run the program using Debug
Hi,
We are migrating from VS COBOL II to a newer version of COBOL (COBOL for OS/390
and VM v2.1.2).
We have Debug Tool v1.2 installed and it seems to work. The IVP job runs fine.
We can run simple programs through the debugger with no problem.
We are having problems running complex programs.
Hi everyone,
I just got back from IBM’s announcement of the next mainframe.
It’s called the zEnterprise or z196 or 2817.

I have a vendor tape that contains a pax file.
How can I unload it, preferably using a job, to a unix directory.
Thanks

Hi,
We have the following request from our user.
A job step creates 14 different reports (SYSOUTS). The user would like the
whole set of reports to be printed 5 times.
For example if the reports are named d01-d14 the order should be:
d01, d02, d03, d04, d05….d01, d02, d03, d04, d05…..

Hi,
It should be blksize * blkcount.
Remember that the maximum blksize on dasd is 27998, but on tape can be 64K and
even larger. This can mean the files will have to be reblocked when copying to
dasd.

Hi,
Last night, I ran a receive order problem.
The job downloaded a file named S0001.SHOPZ.S9084121.SMPMCS.pax.Z that is
895,749,120 bytes.
A few other files (SMPHOLD and some XML files) were downloaded.
That job abended because there was no space in the file system with message:

Hi,
I am trying to run a Receive Order job and keep getting the message:
GIM69198S ** CERTIFICATE shopzseries cert 2010 WAS NOT FOUND CONNECTED TO KEY
RING V110GAD/shopzseries.
I ran the command
RACDCERT ID(V110GAD)list(LABEL('shopzseries cert 2010'))
And got:
Digital
I connected the certificate. If you look at the output, it says so.

Hi,
Today I received notification of a new version of SCRT.
It would be a lot simpler (at least for me) if SCRT was distributed as a load
module.
Having the object embedded in JCL is a point a failure. It’s just too easy to
make changes by mistake.
I would really like SCRT to be distributed
