Create another dataset(but larger)
Copy the old ds to new ds
Then rename the old dsn to old and rename new dsn to the original dsn

You only need to ipl if you go backward in time , cics and db2 don't like that.
If you are moving forward you can simply issue:
$t clock,xx.xx.xx and it will set the time.
If you are moving backward you will need to change the clock memeber in your
parmilb and IPL.

I have ftp'ed them to my pc then used ind$file(through pcomm) to place them
in a dataset on the mainframe.
So now I have 31 fixes in a dataset I have tried to receive them but I get

I am looking at running 2 versions of CAs Dispatch(v6 and v11) .
One of several problems I am looking at are tranids for the secondary(read
updated version) of Dispatch.

I have backed up the datasets to which maint will be applied, and just for
SGs thought I look at a few other datasets reference dates.
Much to my surprise I found an old CA dataset ref'ed today!

The data you need is it dynamic which means a copy would not work?
If the data is not dynamic you could copy it after the data has been updated

I have moved all tcp and vtam related parms over to 1.9(so it should look like

we want to have everyone login securely and we were at pcomm5.7.
I have loaded pcom5.9 tired to login but it is failing with caveats
I get the inital login screen
1) when I try to login to tso in get a prog723. The log shows:

A colleague and I were talking as we feel the powers to be are looking

stated the price of a z box has dropped big(for our size shop) but the cost of

try append in place of replace..nope
and then they try a few more things and nothing works, so I go online and

Well it is amazing what happens when you put the correct device number in.
So I got the system to ipl...almost
I got the first screen up showing the iodf and it does show sys1.iodf9e which I
copied(using the hcd function 6) from our production iodfa1.
The problem now is I get a message:

Well the problem is I had to capture the error on my cell phone and replayed it
back as there is no other way to capure the message.

In the time since I dumped the packs, I have been placed on many other
duties(yes and went on vacation) while this one flounders.
ANyway I am coming in this weekend to ipl the CoD but still wondered about
the IODF,then
I am trying to place my current IODF onto a COD 1.9 system pack.
The doc states if you want to use your current IODF to copy it to the same
pack as the load member.
The problem is I am getting an ADR468e.
I looked the error up and did use the process(sys1) parm, but I don’t want
to rename
we are trying to ftp(put) a gdg using the (+1) notation. The thing fails
everytime with a eza2253(I think) I can't email from work so I am trying to
remember the code.
I looked the error up and it showed it cant find the dsn we are asking for.
We have tried to tick mark it (ie 'dsn.gdg(+1)' but

simular problem. In your console parm did you define an altgrp ?I want to

One thing to watch out for is if you are z/os 1.10 and use dfdss to back
them up there is a problem with restoring the data, it doesn't. An apar came
