We have never used that here, so I'll check into it when IE goes away.
Really, what is the security risk of FTPS? I know it seems to be increasingly
considered a problem, but why?

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask IBM to provide SFTP-SSH servers rather than
FTP servers, given the concern with security?

Been a long time since my site locked us out of ftp:// from a browser, a hard
fight I fought but seeing I am allowed to use https via z/OS and can receive
all holddata in a batch job the ability to ftp from the browser is not a issue
for me.

I wonder how many subscribers are not already aware of QuickRef?

We did save our ptfs that were received during this time (41 ptfs) of which 9
were applied. This maintenance was on multiple systems spread over 3 sysplexs.
That made doing reapply's not a very desirable idea. We rejected the 41 ptfs
and received them again. Then we used GIMCPTS to expand both

I truly hesitate to offer replies like this, but occasionally it seems
appropriate to potentially resolve an issue. There is a company,
Chicago-Soft, Ltd, for which I work, who offers a product MVS/QuickRef.
QuickRef, among other things (and there are many more), contains tons of
documentation

Wrong!
+1 I use HTTPS method weekly in a batch job to receive HOLDDATA only.
at my site, from the mainframe systems that's the only method that is allowed.
I have the sample JCL that IBM provided years ago to do this, easily found on
the IBM site

Not true. You want the IBM HOLDDATA without using FTP? Use SMP/E
RECEIVE ORDER and indicate downloadmethod="https".

While I agree ftp links should be changed to https, I would remind a
browser is not necessary to use ftp, it's really easy to circumvent it.
In Windows system there is something called cmd.exe or CLI and there is
a command named ftp.

You're not the only one. Now that the 'modern browsers' don't support ftp in
websites anymore, I wonder if IBM will wake up
