Does anyone know of anyone in (or near) Central Florida (private individual or
company) with a working mainframe compatible 9-track tape drive capable of
reading tape reels recorded at 1600 or 6250 BPI density?
I have a number of old tapes that need to be copied and archived, for
"posterity."
Here's what happened:

duplicating the parent process' address space. However,

Radoslav,
I know several zPdt users running under VMware. Performance is ex
excellent.
ZPdt requires enterprise Linux, but as others already noted, there are free
versions. We use Centos.

Lionel,
I guess no one wanted to try.
My guess:
WSL seems to be some kind of VM. I don't know whether anyone tried to
use zPDT under Linux running under VirtualBox or any other hypervisor,
however I suspect it may not work properly. Or at least the performance
would be por.
BTW: What
Thanks for all the responses - I asked on the suggested forum and was told that
they have no plans to do anything special for WSL (but they didn't answer the
question of if it would work or not).
So has anyone tried zPDT under WSL?
Thanks

I believe Kurt is saying that IEBCOPY doesn't assign aliases.
OTOH, I was dismayed long ago when I tried such as:
//SYSLIN DD *
Ops. My mistake - they are aliases. I forgot how ISPF shows them.
As a side point, why does the RELFILE need the alias? Can't the apply process
assign them?

Am I missing something obvious in the packaging?
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS was and is just fine, but it'd be my guess you're not going to
have success with Windows in between it and the hardware. But
https://groups.io/g/zPDT is the place to be told that for certain.

It wasn't a page fix request in this instance unless RSM wants to fix pages
while it does a massive copy of memory from one process to another.
This is a 2.3 system.
