All:
I've been having a discussion with co-workers regarding how an SMS management
class is processed. Let's say I create a dataset with a MC of NOEXP and the MC
has expire non-usage set to 365. If I were to go back later (before 365 days
passes) and change the MC to have expire non-usage set
We've been trying to get a good answer as to whether or not NDM 5.2 (and 6.0)
are compatible with z/OS 2.4. Is anyone running NSM 5.2 on z/OS 2.4? We're
working on getting 6.0 installed, but we'd like to know if anyone has seen any
issues with 5.2 on z/OS 2.4?
I had a co-worker ask me today why we have all of our master catalogs as user
cats on the other systems in the sysplex? Besides convenience I really had no
answer as to why we had it setup this way? I've just always done it this way,
but besides convenience of listing and updating catalogs
I'm playing around with JES2 SPOOL OFFLOAD on our test system and I want to be
able to try and offload everything from the spool to test out timing. I have
changed both of my transmitters to have DISP=KEEP to make the offload

presentation today that was fairly impressive, but we would like to be sure
that they actually work as well as they say.
Please email me directly.

Hopefully this is not a stupid question - but is it possibly via RACF (maybe
with DASDVOL) to allow a particular system to have only read access to a DASD
volume? We have a need to possibly vary some devices onto a system in one plex
while it is being updated on another plex, so we would like
,CYL_MANAGED=ALLOWED command at the same time.
Thanks

We're investigating what it would take to convert from CA1 to RMM. I've looked
back through the archives and most of what I see is very dated, so I was going
to see if anyone has any documentation they can send me to help with this? I
thought there used to be a Redbook for this, but I cannot
I have 2 users and one can successfully execute the CONSOLE command while
running it in a started task and in batch, but the other user cannot. From
what I can tell they are both connected to the same RACF groups and both should
have all of the necessary access required to run the CONSOLE
