Oh sure.. i am sure the listers can tell of lots of instances of being 10+
years into a 3 year plan to be off of the mainframe. Usually because there
is actual programming capital that cannot easily be moved/migrated/
reproduced. And then worse is management inability to recognize a
mistake.
I remember when Shands acquired their first mainframe in the 1980s, went
through a few upgrades there, then I left in 1995

Can you name one US customer that shut down the mainframe (z/OS) and
completed a conversion or rehosting.. that has converted back to the
mainframe in the last 5 years.
Linux and z/VM are excluded.. z/OS only please.
