I used to use an IBM product SOF (Software Operator Facility). This
allowed you to have a set of operator commands in a file, and execute them
such as F SOF,/MQSTART. You could pass parameters to it, and include
waits etc
AUTO from the CBT tape file 332 has a lot of functions you could utilise.
ISFSLASH function can be rolled into some REXX code to issue Console
commands and perform waits. Combine the two and you have the function you
describe.
