Hi Alan, did you try the circumvention proposed by Alan Altmark some weeks ago ? In my case here it worked quite well after upgrading appropr. workstation for remote HMC-access to Java 8. If you're interested in please let me know it ... ciao Lutz

Thanks to those who suggested checking for pop-ups etc. None of that worked. After seeing the post about an open PMR where IBM acknowledged problems with JAVA 8 I uninstalled it and went back to JAVA7_21. Now my integrated console and operating system messages are available again. Alan

I take back what I said. HMC interface loads and I'm able to navigate thru screns, but Operating Systems Messages console does not open. Luckly it does open in my native Linux.
