your welcome, I have a BR14 job setup to test JES2EDS after any maint I
apply or upgrade, I have a daily job that offloads my operlog that has
email notification so I know JES2EDS is working.

that's correct, JES2EDS will start once it sees email to process, the
$SEDS works only to reset JES2EDS if you've had issues.

Check for fixes to JES2EDS. There is at least one fix recently. You can
start it manually using $S EDS (from my memory, which may have parity
errors!). If you see HASP1522/HASP153 errors, it may mean you need the
PTF. Don’t remember the PTF right now.

I am trying to get JES2EDS to work.
On our production systems, it is started automagically during IPL.
On the test system, it's not started, and I can't find an attempt to start it.
The z/OSMF started tasks (IZUANG1 and IZUSVR1) are started.
What causes JES2EDS to start?
