I too got the Chrome tag along install courtesy of the automatic update (now
turned off) for Reader several weeks ago. Most irritating. Adobe seems to think
that is a feature. I opened a priority security incident for the unauthorized
new install, not update, of software

That is why I DON"T do automatic updates. You have to uncheck the
axiliary installs or you get extra software.
