Florian,
For the DCSS type segments, you can use the MOVESEG command, but for the
NSSes, (CMS and GCS) you will still need to regenerate them.
You can find MOVESEG at
http://www.vm.ibm.com/download/packages/descript.cgi?MOVESEG

Hi, Florian.
You might want to try using the SFB utility that can backup and restore NSS as well as
DCSS type segments. It can also process a number of other spool file types as well. You
can download a copy here:

Did all your spool volumes mount? Did the SYSTEM CONFIG change in regard
to the CP_Owned list? Are those the only one missing?

Second reason, spool volume offline.

There you go, before a cold start you should save your NSS and DCSS files. There's a
procedure in the Guide to System Installation. David Boyes send a way to rebuild them.

To use the VM/SES-E routines, MAINT needs to have it's 5E% minidisk at file mode b and
it's 51D minidisk at file mode d. Hope this helps.

If I have a z/OS 1.4 guest running under z/VM with dedicated OSA
addresses, will it work using using VSWITCH ? The z/OS guest uses a port
name but the VSWITCH does not. Or does it matter ?

The VSWITCH does not need a portname -- from reading other posts, there is a
caution to make sure you do NOT use the same port name z/OS is using. I see
it set to DONTCARE or NOTUSED when I look at various VSWITCH details..

You can use DCSSBKUP and DCSSRSAV that comes with your system, instead
of MOVESEG. They perform the same function.

A COLD start will not molest the SDFs, only regular spool files. It
takes a CLEAN start to delete the SDFs.
